SYTYCD at the Oscars!
Edit: Dancers Confirmed for Oscars’ Performance on March 7th: Ellenore Scott (S6), Kathryn McCormick (S6), Russell Ferguson (S6), Jakob Karr (S6), Noelle Marsh (S6), Jaimie Goodwin (S3), and Channing Cooke (S6).
So, as we all know, Adam Shankman is producing this year’s Oscars (the Academy Awards…)! He’s enlisted the fabulous talents of some of our own favorites of SYTYCD: Travis Wall (S2), Kayla Radomski (S5), Kathryn, and Russell to assist the audition process. There’s been word that the lucky dancers have already been chosen for the Oscar performance, so there’s bound to be speculation of the numbers Shankman will choose to perform.
From Movieline, we have some guesses…
District 9
In this contemporary pas de deux, government worker Wikus Van De Merwe learns he’s become the hunted; with nowhere else to run, he takes refuge in his prawn enemy Christopher Johnson. The two develop an unlikely friendship, and pledge to help each other flee the planet.

Taking James Cameron’s game-changing technical marvel as a jumping off point, Shankman outfits his vaguely ethnic looking “others” in flowy tribal garb inspired by the cool blues, greens and purples of the Avatar palate. The number ends in the spectacular destruction of the neon Hometree erected upstage.
Interesting? What do you guys think? Any preferences for performances at the Oscars?
Pure speculation on my part:
Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin are hosting, so I wouldn't be surpised if there's a big opening musical number (to sum up the movies in 2009…..kinda like what Jackman did last year).
Plus the nominees for best original song are all guaranteed a performance number.
Maybe also a tribute to the late Patrick Swayze
