Hollywood Outbreak uploaded an interview with Adam Shankman where he discusses why he’s putting so much passion into his number for the Academy Awards. He talks about how the Oscar’s was his first gig about twenty years ago, so being able to choreograph a number for the awards show is something he holds close to him.

About 600 contemporary dancers came out to audition (that’s more than twice the amount of dancers who showed up for SYTYCD7 Miami auditions). A lot of familiar faces spotted in the video include Billy Bell (S6.5), Kayla Radomski (S5), Travis Wall (S2), and Jaimie Goodwin (S3).

Other dancers who auditioned are Katee Shean (S4), season six’s Russell Ferguson, Kathryn McCormick, Ellenore Scott, Legacy Perez, and Noelle Marsh.

Jakob Karr (S6) is also scheduled to assist Adam Shankman in future rehearsals and will partake in the actual performance.
