Season 8 Wishlist: Judson Emery
Due to the boring nature of the off season, we’re going to start a new thing where we feature certain dancers or choreographers we want on season 8! Some may call it early pimping, but who cares. It’s fun to spread the talents of these amazing dancers.
First up on our list is Judson Emery, who made his first appearance on SYTYCD this past season as Tyce Diorio‘s assistant and worked closely with many of the contestants.
Here’s a video of a solo he choreographed for a friend! Enjoy.

Video: Ryan Ramirez in Leo Morimune’s Class at iHollywood Dance 2010
Remember Ryan Ramirez from season 7? Of course not. They didn’t cast her. Those @($!ers…
But here’s a video of her absolutely slaying some Leo Morimune choreography at iHollywood Dance this past summer. She’s amazing! Here’s to hoping she comes back and auditions next season.
What do you think? Should Ryan Ramirez come back and audition for season 8?

Montages: Lauren Froderman and Ashley Galvan Tributes!
We haven’t updated in awhile because 1. Trandrew has been super busy and 2. There hasn’t been much to update about! Here are some montages done by Allie (yutubemealliee) featuring season 7 top 2 girls Lauren Froderman and Ashley Galvan! Enjoy.
Video: Travis Wall and Nick Lazzarini – How It Ends (Neil/Kent Dance)
Season one champion Nick Lazzarini and season two runner up Travis Wall perform one of season seven’s best dances choreographed by Travis himself, How It Ends, at Teddy Forance‘s dance showcase Generations IV Dance. This piece was originally performed by Kent Boyd (S7) and Neil Haskell (S3).
The camera work is a bit amateur to say the least, but it’s nice seeing other dancers interpret Travis’s choreography, not to mention Travis himself.

Edit: New video footage from Allison Schultz! It’s watermarked and only about half of the dance, but the higher quality lets you see the actual movement easier now!
Video: Lauren Froderman – Backstage at Tour Rehearsals #3
Edition #3, here we go! Love these backstage treats from the lovely Lauren Froderman (s7). Hopefully we’ll be getting tons of these when the tour actually starts! Working hard or hardly working? You be the judge!
SYTYCDC3: Top 22 Revealed!
Last night, SYTYCD Canada revealed the dancers that will be competing this season for the title of “Canada’s Favourite Dancer”! Yes, we do spell favourite with a “u”. Anyway, looks like they pulled a SYTYCDUS move and changed it to a top 22. 11 boys and 11 girls. They will be continuing with the original format with no all-stars, obviously. I included each dancer’s audition if it was aired. The selected dancers are as follows:
Hani Abaza – Modern Contemporary
Shelaina Anderson – Contemporary
Janick Arseneau – Contemporary
Jonathan Arsenault – Contemporary
Shavar Blackwood – Hip-Hop
Amanda Cleghorn – Contemporary
Denys Drozduyk – Ballroom
Yonni Fournier – Salsa
Danielle Gardner – Contemporary
Edgar Gilbert-Reyes – Hip-Hop
Mackenzie Green – Contemporary
Julia Harnett – Latin Ballroom
Charlene Hart – Contemporary Jazz
Natalie Heath – Contemporary
Sebastian Mersch – Contemporary
Jeff Mortensen – Contemporary
Claudia Primeau – Ballroom
Kloe Schultz – Lyrical Jazz
Bree Wasylenko – Contemporary
Jesse Weafer – Contemporary
Kirsten Wicklund – Contemporary Ballet
Jera Wolfe – Ballet/Breakdance
Did your favourites make the cut? I’m glad Hani Abaza, Kirsten Wicklund and Jera Wolfe made the top 22! Tonight the top 22 will perform for the first time. I’ll be sure to include a download link to the episode if I can’t do a video recap!
